In addition to his role as member of the AustCham Myanmar board of director Guy works as a professional ecologist with more than fifteen years’ experience in biodiversity related aspects of impact assessment and due diligence. His current role with Cambridge-based The Biodiversity Consultancy sees him supporting both policy and project aspects of biodiversity management. Guy was previously based in Yangon where he supported government and corporate clients in the roll-out of the new environmental impact assessment guidelines.
Guy has been involved in reviewing projects and program against IFC Performance Standards, the Equator Principles, and various voluntary climate change and product stewardship standards. His sector experience includes infrastructure (transport, power, and property), mining (quarry, open cut and artisanal), oil and gas, and agro-forestry (sugar, oil palm, coffee, timber).
Guy is currently working on a field guide for the Primates of Indo-China and serves as a commission member for the IUCN – Commission for Ecosystem Management and Species Survival Commission.
Currently based in Sydney, Australia Guy's supports AustCham Myanmar in both strategy and advocacy for Australian-based companies and organisations with an active interest in Myanmar’s emerging market landscape.
