IFC Stakeholder Engagement and Grievance Mechanism Seminar
Addressing environmental and social risks can be challenging and overwhelming. This is particularly evident when trying to engage with stakeholders to address concerns and expectations. Given the recent changes within the Myanmar government and the supporting regulatory framework, there is added pressure on companies to improve performance and ensure responsible operations.
To ensure companies have the knowledge and capacity to effectively manage and mitigate environmental and social risks, IFC has developed a training program that focuses on building the awareness and capacity of the private sector companies on stakeholder engagement, grievance mechanisms, communication, and reporting and has rolled this out to five companies in Myanmar.
This short seminar is co-led by AustCham and IFC with the support of the Australian and UK governments and aims to provide a better understanding of key stakeholder engagement elements: how to identify and analyze stakeholders and approaches to design and implement grievance mechanisms.
The seminar is open to Austcham Myanmar members and targeted at environmental and social consultants or staff working for the private sector. If you are interested to join, please register your interest at thiri@a-mcc.com by Friday, March 15.
The seminar is generously supported by the Australian and UK governments.
