Ekayi Maw Koo was born in Yangon, Myanmar and moved to Australia at a young age.  She studied in Australia completing her Bachelor of Asian Studies and Bachelor of Commerce at the Australian National University.  Ekayi completed her studies with a first-class honors in Commerce, researching volatility and liberalization in emerging markets.

Ekayi Maw Koo gained valuable corporate experience working at Bankers Trust, analyzing Asian equities. Ms Ekayi Maw Koo had sector responsibilities for transportation, infrastructure and utilities.  Following her role as an Asian equities analyst, Ekayi Maw worked at Qantas Airways in the financial planning division.  Here her responsibilities included developing the 3 Year financial plans for Qantas Airways as well as the long term strategic 10-year plans for Qantas Airways.

The combination of global professional experience and a cultural understanding of Myanmar, Ekayi brings a unique mix to the role of Chief Executive Officer of AustCham Myanmar.
